Looking up Palm trees

swaying in the on-shore winds

reach for clearing skies,

bringing chilly air.

Now the rain seems to have passed …

ground is dry once more .

Shifting breezes now

off-shore … Santa Ana winds

warming temp’ratures.

Once again I am

watering the yard to keep

plants from shriveling.

Thought for Today

“I like trees because they seem more resigned to the way they have to live than other things do.” Willa Cather, 1913
