Okay, the geese are one thing, but the pigeons remind me of Hitchcock’s “The Birds”! LOL! Do you remember that film??? I couldn’t sleep for weeks. Yes, I would call that some unusual bird activity. Just be thankful, however, that they weren’t flying TOWARD the camera. 😉
Come see my goose. He bears a striking resemblance to the Nessie of Loch Ness fame.
Great photos!
XO,
Sheila 🙂

This kind of bird activity has been interesting to me. Why will a flock all of a sudden take off then circle back down? I wonder if something’s scaring them that we can’t see?

I love what you did with that big one. But I have to tell you, I somehow saw the movie (The Birds) as a small child. I must have gotten away from my mom somehow. At any rate, I can become desperately afraid when there are flocks of birds over my head. My husband and kids find it hysterical. Especially since I always cover my head and start yelling, ‘the birds, the birds’.

Did you change the title of your post, sweet lady, or did I somehow miss it? If so, egg on my face! No pun intended. LOL! 😉

Pigeons are a little scary — even without the title of your post! I am a birder, but I draw the line at them! Even so though your pictures are excellent and do provide an interesting look at bird behavior.

These are great shots! You’ve captured them beautifully, but yes it does remind me a bit of The Birds. I think they were just happy for the beautiful day and were celebrating!

Great pics. It reminds me of Downtown Chicago when I use to work there getting out from the train station I walked along the river to my office building, and I would see scenes such as these, but I have to agree with one of your readers. These pics kind of remind me of Alfred Hitchcock’s movie “The Birds” also. ~tee-hee~ Following you, have a good one. Love your blog.

OMG! Look at those pigeons! I remember almost the same number at the Los Angeles Public Library!
Are the people feeding them?
Enjoy your day!

I have always wondered what makes birds take off en masse and then settle right back down in the same area. Great shots!

Whoa–what a lot of birds! I had this experience fairly recently in a park in Baltimore–a huge flock kept swooping all around.
